Woh, now there’s a cool name for a Toy. Tightrope Terror! What 11 year old boy wouldn’t want to check out exactly how Terrifying this Tightrope actually is? I’m almost tempted myself. I spent many a rainy Sunday afternoon racing my toy cars down specially extended’ Streak Loop Track seeing which car performed the most spectacular loop the loop before hurtling through the nearest window. Ah the joys of the eighties….

Ben 10 Alien Force Kevins DX Action Cruiser

Ben 10 is the ideal ‘superhero’ for 21st century boys. Ben Tennyson finds a mysterious Alien Device called the Omnitrix, stored inside a watch which Ben discovers too late he cannot remove from his wrist once worn. However, he quickly learns that the wearer of the Omnitrix is able to transform into an improbable variety of Alien Creatures and promptly sets about ridding the world of baddies.

The DX Action Cruiser is from the spin off series ‘Ben 10 Alien Adventures’ which sees Ben a little older than the original and while he still isn’t old enough to drive, he is friends with ‘Kevin 11′, who can. This cool green car muscle is just like the one he drives in the show, the Action Cruiser is loaded with unique features. Shoot DNA alien capsules filled with planetary powder when switched to battle mode. Includes exclusive Kevin figure, and can be played with other 10cm figures (sold separately)

I just noticed Sainsburys coming in top for a lot of the Price Comparison items on site this morning. Turns out they have launched a fantastic ‘Half Price Toys’ offer. Launched at midnight but on the downside though the gannets have been up early and it looks like its been picked clean with a mojority of items now out of stock so you better be quick. However give it look they might replenish before 4th November which is when the sale ends.

Sylvanian Families Caravan

Sylvania. Never been there myself, but I understand they are big on family. And now they can go on holiday thanks to the Sylvanian Families Caravan. The Sylvanian Caravan has everything needed for staying away from home. Open up the roof and side to reveal a very well equipped toy kitchen area with sink, stove, drawers, cupboards and even a fold-out ironing board. There’s a seating area which converts into a double bed and coffee table. There are 2 further fold-out bunks on board. Towards the rear there’s a shower room with fold-down loo and a wash-handbasin

Top Ten Chrismas Toys for 2009 and More….

Its that time of the year again, when the little cherubs are looking up at you with a moist dreamy look in their eye, knowing deep down that they have been good this year, as the nights draw in and the arrival of the big Jolly Fat Man draws ever nearer. Ahh, what do they want for Christmas this year you think as sit down before them with a mug of mulled wine in one hand and some horse chestnuts in the other; a dolls house, a bicycle helmet, a little toy car or two….? Dareway in Pink (For Girls)

The Pink Dareway. Not sure how I feel about this being marketed as a toy. Aren’t we running the risk of spawning the fattest generation of Kids ever? And whats our answer to that? The Dareway (in Pink). A twin wheeled electric rolly thing to take the strain as the little darlings chase the ice cream van down the road. No Idea who would win that particular race to be honest, whats the top speed of an Ice Cream Van? Anyway, I digress. The Dareway. I’ve seen grown up versions of these things on various gadget shows for a few years now, and in a way they kind of make sense, but then they were marketed more as a way to get us out of our cars and saving the planet. Still, not many of them around my neck of the woods, so I suppose its only natural that the inventors would try to capture the other end of the market. (You can even get a Hannah Montana Dareway, I think).

The Dareway girl (or boy, why conform to steretype) can travel forwards, backwards left or right using the thumb-operated directional buttons. With quiet motor and progressive acceleration. Includes rechargeable battery and charger. Suitable for age range 5 years and over.

Not suitable for use on Public Roads though, so no they wont actually be racing ice creams vans with it.

Peppa Pigs Palace

Oink Oink a pig in a palace. Now, I’m the first to admit that my kids are too old for Peppa Pig (although I understand my Niece is a devoted fan!) so I’m somewhat out of my depth when it comes to doing a right up on this product. However, I do know that Peppa Pig is very popular with the little ones and so this introduction to the Peppa Pig range of toys should prove no different. When you read the following words however, do bear in mind that they are entirely not my own….

Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box

Towards the End of 2008 the Western world finally got a taste of that the Japanese had been been enthralled by for Month’s when Professor Layton Burst onto the Scene in his brain taxing puzzler ‘Professor Layton and the Curious Village‘ exclusively on the Nintendo DS. It quickly become the Must Have game on the console and in the the run up to Christmas it was like the proverbial Rocking Horse Dropping to get hold of. The sequel therefore is likely to be equally as popular.

Pandora’s Box is a bigger adventure and even greater dangers than before. While investigating the death of his mentor Dr Schrader, Professor Layton. and his apprentice Luke are embroiled in a dangerous mystery concerning a box that is said to kill anyone who opens it. Follow clues that lead you onto the the Molentary Express and enter a new world filled with bizarre characters and over a hundred new puzzles to test your grey matter. From simple riddles and maths problems, to logic puzzles, optical illusions and block-sliding style brainteasers – no two challenges are ever the same.

There’s always a helpful hint to ensure you never get stuck for long though and plenty of rewards for when you get them right – from keep fit gifts for your pet hamster to ingredients for the ultimate cup of tea. Training your brain has never been this much fun!
